Our Approach to Therapy

Blending science, compassion, and connection for whole-person healing.

At Dragonfly Health & Wellness, we believe that healing happens in connection—with ourselves, with others, and within safe, supportive relationships. We integrate a wide range of evidence-based and experiential therapies to meet each person where they are, honoring both the mind and the body.

Whether you are looking for skills to manage daily stress, healing from trauma, or tools to improve relationships, our team is here to walk alongside you. Each of the approaches below offers a unique pathway toward growth, balance, and deeper connection.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a highly effective, evidence-based approach that helps us understand the connection between our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Often, unhelpful thought patterns can keep us feeling stuck in cycles of worry, sadness, or self-doubt. CBT provides practical tools to identify and reframe these patterns, while building healthier coping strategies that create real change in daily life. This structured and supportive approach empowers you to think differently, feel better, and make choices that align with your goals.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

DBT is a structured, skills-focused therapy that combines mindfulness with practical strategies for navigating life’s challenges. Clients learn how to regulate emotions, tolerate distress, communicate needs effectively, and build healthier relationships. At Dragonfly, DBT is offered in groups and individual sessions, creating a safe community for practicing and applying these skills step by step. DBT helps you build what we call a “life worth living.”

Dynamic Attachment Repatterning experience (DARe)

DARe is an attachment-based therapy that explores how early caregiver relationships shape the ways we connect with ourselves and others. Old patterns of fear, avoidance, or conflict often live not just in the mind, but in the body and nervous system. Through gentle body awareness, neuroscience, and relational repair, DARe helps create new experiences of safety and trust. This work builds resilience and allows for deeper, more secure relationships.

Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) for Couples

Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) is a proven approach for couples who want to strengthen their connection and heal relationship wounds. EFT helps partners identify the negative cycles that fuel conflict and distance, while uncovering the deeper emotions and needs that often remain hidden. With guidance and support, couples learn to share vulnerably, respond with empathy, and create new patterns of safety and closeness. EFT empowers couples to build stronger bonds and lasting intimacy.

Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is a trauma-focused therapy that helps the brain process painful memories that may feel “stuck.” Using bilateral stimulation such as eye movements or gentle tapping, EMDR reduces the emotional charge of past experiences while supporting the development of healthier beliefs. Over time, this allows people to move forward with greater resilience and self-trust. EMDR helps you release the past and step into life with more clarity and ease.

NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM)

NARM is an advanced therapeutic model that focuses on healing the impact of early attachment wounds and developmental trauma. Many struggles—such as shame, disconnection, self-criticism, or difficulties in relationships—stem from unmet needs for safety, connection, and belonging. NARM combines mindful awareness with relational healing to gently untangle old survival patterns and reconnect us with our authentic sense of self. This approach helps restore vitality, presence, and deeper connection to both self and others..

Somatic Experiencing (SE)

Somatic Experiencing (SE) works directly with the nervous system to resolve trauma and stress that the body may still be carrying. When overwhelming events occur, our natural fight, flight, or freeze responses can become stuck, leaving us on edge or shut down. SE gently guides the body to complete these responses and restore balance, creating a sense of safety and regulation. This body-centered approach helps you feel more grounded, resilient, and whole.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a compassionate approach that views our inner world as made up of different “parts”—the critic, the protector, the playful child, and many more. Often, these parts carry burdens from past pain and trauma, yet each one has value and purpose. In IFS, we learn to welcome all of our parts with curiosity and care, while reconnecting to our core Self— the calm, wise, and compassionate center within. IFS can help you find greater balance, healing, and freedom in your daily life.

Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration (MNRI)

MNRI is a neurodevelopmental approach designed to support the integration of primary reflex patterns that form the foundation of movement, learning, and emotional regulation. When these reflexes are disrupted by stress, trauma, or developmental challenges, it can affect daily functioning. Through gentle, structured exercises, MNRI helps re-pattern the nervous system and restore natural balance. This work supports growth and healing across body, mind, and emotions.
